Diving Tenerife The Boat ~ Ocean Odyssey

The heart of any diving operation is the boat "Ocean Odyssey" is a 6.3m Humber Ocean Pro RIB with a Mariner Optimax outboard. For those of you into boats we think it is probably the best balanced hull and engine of any dive boat in Las Galletas. It's fast, un laden 35 knot +, economical which means we regularly travel to dive sites most other centre's don't. The deep V hull construction really does cut through the water giving customers a smooth enjoyable journey. As it sits low to the water line exits/entries to/from the boat are easy no clambering up ladders.

Fully fitted out for diving we carry all the standard safety equipment O2, first aid kit, air horns, flares erc. that any cold water trained diver would expect including an ample supply of drinking water it's free! The boat is always manned by by a qualified boat handler. In addition to this we are the only diving operation to use a trapeze (6M) making safety/decompression stops easy no crowded anchor lines! The boat is licensed and insured to carry 10 customers and two members of staff. (This is the same for a any dive boat regardless of size) Please remember a number of diving centers claim to have their own boats they don't!

Diving Tenerife The "Scuba Shack"

Tenerife Scuba's is situated in La Estrella about a 3 min drive from Las Galletas harbour. In total we have approximatly 100m sq physically divided into dry and wet areas.

Diving Tenerife The Dry Area

The dry area is for administration and training and contains seating and kitchen areas, where customers are more than welcome to help themselves to tea and coffee, pre and post diving, and unlike some other centers it's free! Customers are also welcome to use one of our multimedia PC's with internet access. Either to check emails/internet or to view and copy to CD pictures taken whilst diving.

In the dedicated training area you have access to PADI materials, fish identification books, magazines and DVDS' along with changing and bathroom facilities

Diving Tenerife The Wet Area

The Wet area houses our externally vented Bauer Compressor, along with tanks (10,12 and 15L are available)a kit service area,changing and bathroom facilities.

The custom built kit rinse area, which has mains drainage, we think is basically the biggest shower tray in Tenerife.

It has ample space for kit washing and storage whilst you are diving with us.

We transport kit and people in separate vehicles. We tend to assemble/disassemble and check kit in the wet centre. Following the dive briefing we load it onto our pick up truck for transportation to the harbour whilst customers go in the people carrier.
