Excellent Weeks Diving

Thank you for an excellent weeks diving during October half term week. Visibility was superb and the variety of dive sites and fish life was much better than we have experienced elsewhere before. As a family of four (two children aged 12 and 17) it is sometimes difficult to keep everyone happy but we had no problems on this holiday. The highlight of our dives was clearly the Ray dive, which we insisted on doing twice. During a frenzied feeding session we were completely surrounded by a dozen rays and many other fish. Stumpy the massive Atlantic Ray also visited. Hannah our 12 year old daughter (junior advanced open water) aptly describes the dive in her log book as Scuba Heaven best dive ever. I could not control my excitement Rays and fish were everywhere-we could hardly see each other. I touched and stroked the rays they were so soft and they went against my face. The family agrees. We will miss our surface intervals at the local restaurant overlooking the sea and the friendly banter and jibes from Chris (particularly Hannah who is still planning her revenge) since returning home we have looked at the updated web site which we thought was excellent. We will be visiting regularly for updates. Thank you, again for a very memorable holiday, Best wishes, Janet, Michael, Andrew and Hannah

Tenerife Scuba Supported Charity

This is a scuba diving web site so what's all this about? Well maybe it's about giving a little bit back and doing our bit.

Mark, Sarah and myself (Chris) like lots of other people have grown up with pets. I originally come from a small farming community in the wilds of Kent. When we originally moved here to Tenerife Kaliban our German Shepard, a Battersea Rescue dog, came with us.

Kaliban
Leah

When you have lived in a place for a while you do get to see things that the average tourist is unaware of. Tenerife does have a lot of stray animals. There is one major problem though unlike the UK there is no safety net here where abandoned animals can be dealt with, there is no equivalent to RSPCA here in Tenerife, no government funding exists it's down to charities

This is where K9 Tenerife come in. Shortly after Kaliban died, and with the house too quiet, Sarah went to visit K9 just to see where they were! Then came the call "Darling I've just spent the last 10 min's playing with a 10 week old German Sheppard puppy can I?" Why are you calling me I thought! We named her "Leah"

We are pleased to support K9 in their fund raising activities.

K9 Try Dive Winner

You will regularly find us at K9 fund raising nights raffling Try Dives and even complete PADI Open Water Courses. We have a what we have called the "Puppy Pot" in the centre. At the end of a holiday you are always left with useless small change which the Puppy Pot gratefully receives.

Dear Chris and Sarah, Thank you for all your support over the years, we are truly grateful for all that you do. We are simply a bunch of people trying to make a difference and against some terrific odds at times as you both well know, its our friends that keep us going and over the course of the next year or so we are all going to see the rewards of our efforts with the launch of One Voice. This is an attempt to amalgamate all of the Southern based animal welfare organisations under one banner, simplifying the administration challenges, extending and improving K9s facilities to become the central holding kennels in the South and freeing up everyone else, which will enable them all to get on and do what theyre good at while we take care of the day to day care of the animals. With your help and the many others like you, we call all really start to make a difference. Yours sincerely, Ian Sharrock Marketing Director, K9 Animal Sanctuary
