Dave Edkins
Sarah, Chris. Sorry for the delay in contacting you, Dave Julian myself and a few others from Kingsbury Divers have just come back from a bit of wreck diving in Scapa Flow. The package you sent arrived while I was away so was a very pleasant surprise when I arrived home, thank you very much. Please let me know how much i owe you for the tops. I would also like to thank you both for making our week in Tenerife so enjoyable, I particularly enjoyed Chris's low tek solution to dive site location (there must be a market for the GPS/Sonar mask). Not sure what the plans are for next year, so far we only have a weekend in Dorset and a week in Sharm on the cards. I must admit the wrecks of Gran Canaria do sound tempting, we will discuss the possibility of a club trip at our AGM on Sunday. Once again thank you both very much for looking after us, I hope you are both well and not getting too much hassle from all those annoying divers who keep interrupting your extended holiday out there. Hope to see you again soon, Love and Peace, Dave Edkins.

Imagine diving surrounded by large Tuna and having to remind your buddy to look by his side because he's been followed by an inquisitive five foot Grouper! Where seeing Queen Trigger Fish is the norm along with 60M + visibility!
El Heirro is the most westerly of the Canary Islands and the smallest with a surface area of only 287 sq. Km. It is rural and largely untouched by tourism. The coastline in the north is rugged and forbidding, similar to Western Ireland. The south is a mix of semiarid volcanic landscapes and pine forest. The highest peak is Malpaso, at 1501m. El Hierro is definitely the place for outdoor enthusiasts. It is famous for walking and diving, and offers cycling, rock-climbing, caving and horse riding.

The main diving action is at the village of La Restinga, which is situated on the most southerly tip of the island with a population of less than 200. La Restinga is by a protected marine park, and host to Fotosub one of the world's major underwater photography competitions, which says it all. With a 1/2 dozen restaurants and bars if your looking for wild nightlife this place is not for you. If tranquility, excellent diving, and quality time with your camera sounds good, then this is the place to be.
Tenerife Scuba can arrange the complete package. Accommodation and diving here in Tenerife and El Heirro, along with transfers and transportation to El Heirro all accompanied by TenerifeScuba staff. El Hierro is a 1 3/4 hr ferry crossing, so diving the day before is not a problem, no messing around with no-fly times. For groups of four or more it is possible to customise any trip. If your not traveling as part of a group then we do run a number of published trips a year. Please see the scheduled trip page
